Cape Town Car Show & Motor Festival

Ghost Motorfest is a one-day indoor car show and motorcycle festival at Newlands Cricket Grounds in Cape Town — 70+ cars across four themed halls, 20+ motorcycles, live music and a VIP area, all under one roof on Sunday 29 November 2026.

A car show in Cape Town, indoors

Most Cape Town car shows live and die by the weather. Ghost Motorfest does not: it runs entirely indoors, across two adjoining buildings at Newlands Cricket Grounds in Newlands. The main hall is 816 m² of clear span with no internal columns, so the cars are lit and laid out as an exhibition rather than a car park, and the museum floor next door sits under the same roof line. Rain, wind or a Cape south-easter changes nothing.

It is a one-day festival, not a weekend expo. Gates open at 13:00 and the show closes at 22:00, with the stage programme — live music from the first set and a DJ into the evening — running alongside the display.

What is on display

The floor is split into four themed halls — Classic, Sports, Stance and Race — so pre-1980 machinery, coupes and roadsters, fitment-led builds and ex-competition cars each get their own stretch of floor and their own light. 70+ cars and 20+ motorcycles are advertised across the two buildings.

Alongside the vehicles there are food and drink traders on site, a VIP area beside the stage, and a programme and floor plan to help you find your way around the halls.

Tickets and prices

Tickets run in three capped releases — early bird, general admission and VIP — with adult tickets from R99. VIP adds a meal and a drink, priority queues at the gate, on-premises underground parking and a private seating area by the music.

Every release is capped and the whole festival is limited, so buying ahead is both cheaper and the only way to be certain of entry. A limited number are sold at the gate on the day at a higher price while there is room.

Where it is and how to get there

Newlands Cricket Grounds sits in Newlands, a short drive from the city centre and the southern suburbs and on the main routes into Cape Town. Public parking is R30 for the day on the Groote Schuur High School sports field, next to the ground, and VIP tickets include on-premises underground parking.

There is a full Getting there page with directions from the N1, N2 and M3, public transport options and where to stay nearby.
